I'm not insane. I don't need the pills. I. DON'T. NEED. THEM.

{ C R A Z Y } is a Psychological Horror x Arcade-Shooter game set in a mental institution. And everyone at the hospital is definitely out to get you...
-> Your goal is to just kill as many pill-crazed doctors and nurses as you can, because you really don't need the pills.
-> A side quest is to find and collect all of the notes and abilities scattered around the facility. I do wonder who the notes are all talking about though...

This was made for the ScoreSpace Jam #26 with theme "COLLECT". The entire game was made by just 1 person (ME!), so it might not be able to compare to some of the amazing other games that some people have made, but I still think it's cool :)

Given the limitations of a game-jam I wasn't able to create a world or storyline that's very comprehensive.
I will definitely try to expand upon the game in some way, very soon…

DEVELOPER'S NOTES:

First of all, I'm sorry if I left a few things unfinished, and extremely unoptimised, in the final build for the jam; I was up against the deadline and needed to submit something 😭

The end scene is supposed to be somewhat open-ended, as to whether you were insane all along or the doctor's pills made you crazy; leading to that reaction.
I guess it just depends on how morbid your imagination is 💀

I recommend downloading the game since your browser might not give the best performance and/or immersion.

Also, sorry if I was too vague about this, but the notes are all about you lol

A few helpful numbers, if you want to make the game easier for yourself:

- The Player has 100 health points, the Crazy Patient has 25, the Female Orderly has 50, the Doctor has 100, and the Male Orderly has 200
- The Gun does 25 damage, the Knife does 100, Patient does 5, Doctor and Female Orderly do 15, Male Orderly does 25
- First Aid Kits are scarce but heal you for 50 HP
- Sprinting can only be done up to 10 seconds after which you need to let stamina regenerate
- You can only shoot your gun once every 0.6 seconds, upto 64 metres away
- Knives can only be thrown once every 5 seconds, accurately upto 16 metres away
- Shield protects you from all damage for 4 seconds, available every 20 seconds
- Brain Control eliminates every enemy within a 8 metre radius, available every 30 seconds
- You can interact with objects upto 3 metres away
